Love and sex and death and parent-child dynamics

When I saw the first chapter was called "Park Slope Wives" and the first scene was a married couple having uninspired sex, I almost stopped reading. I am glad I continued, because Hala Alyan's novel is not about bored, boring rich people in Brooklyn. Alyan writes with insight into the dynamics between siblings, spouses, parents and children. I look forward to reading the rest of this novel.
