Dramatic, atmospheric prologue pulls you in

Pre-pandemic, I used to visit Lebanon once or twice a year, and this book makes my heart ache to return! From the first page of the prologue, we're immediately thrust into the sights, smells, and sounds of Beirut, and a quick understanding of this family's history. After a dramatic prologue, we're suddenly thrown into New York with different characters. I need to read more!!
