I always thoroughly enjoy reading any character-focused novels, especially ones involving family. Because we all know the best way to write the hard-hitting novels are ones that are so able to tell stories that we could hear every day from our friends and family. I was so impressed by this first look, and love how quickly the author could pull me into this story and family dynamic. I would be so happy to get a copy of this and would love to read more about the topics this novel brings up. (I also love the "painted" cover, the dark colors with the amazing title really set up an entire type of mood for the writing)
