I really appreciate the opportunity to read and review this book. I have to admit I was really intrigued by the idea of the animals haunting the mansion or the lady in white that roamed the hallways of Lockwood Manor. I was a little disappointed with the way that the story seemed to drag on and not as much mystery and suspense as I had initially hoped for. Lucy is an intriguing character and it seems as though her mothers mental illness made life really tough for her and the way her mom treated her traumatized her in a way that was hard to come back from. The relationship between Hetty and Lucy was not my favorite. It seems to me that the burning of Lockwood Manor may have been for the good of both girls for a brighter future. All in all it was a good book and I would still recommend reading it.
