Captivated by the writing
The writing style of this book drew me in from the very first sentence. The writing is descriptive but not overly flowery and really paints a picture of the scene that the reader is experiencing. The main character's narrative style has this almost dry sense of humor and I couldn't help but laugh a little as she described the accident that almost cost her her job. I was really intrigued by the premise of the story and the setting of the museum. I was also curious to learn more about the main character, particularly after she described her family, or lack thereof. She seems determined and stubborn. It takes me a lot to be drawn into a book and the first ten pages of this story definitely hit the mark for me.
