Gothic! Dark! Jane Healey's debut novel. Historical fiction story set place in England during WWII. The museum curator is tasked with securing the safety of valuable mammal specimens from the blitz. Good descriptive writing style in this first look. Compared to Kate Morton style. I found myself wondering what was going to unfold throughout the rest of the book beyond this snippet. The book cover is intriguing. Definitely a book I would be interested in reading.
