Unique Aspect of a World War II Novel

The first chapter was a pleasant surprise because the cover and title gave out non-fiction vibes. Just when you think every aspect of World War II has been addresses in a novel, along comes this unique storyline. Imagine the task of preserving a nation's natural history artifacts with war looming! I really enjoyed the author's writing style and am intrigued to read the rest of the story.
