The sample given is much too short to give a thorough First Impression. Most of my opinion of the book is formed based on the synopsis. As for the sample itself, I can only establish that the author has a good writing style and has made the main character relatable. The synopsis is truly what gives the book its allure. Having read the sample given, one would not expect a historical fiction novel such as this one to have a dark or haunting theme. I took the time to read some reviews that have already been shared about this book and I was pleasantly surprised to see an extremely positive response. Not a single person has rated it poorly on Goodreads thus far. I am very eager to read more!
