Jane Eyre Meets Progressive WWII Story
My first interest int this novel was the cover. The outline of the tiger, and the background of the red flowers gives the book a sense of historic Asia. The birds within the tiger give the sense of a quiet, character driven novel. (Goldfinch- Donna Tartt).
The first look at the novel gave me a feel of the character Jane Eyre, set with the backdrop of WWII, persuing a field of natural historic study.
I am most excited to continue this story with the hopes of seeing more parallels of Jane Eyre and gaining insight into what someone in this field would have experienced during a major war.
