Comparing a new book to those written by Kate Morton and Sarah Perry is exciting on its own. But to realize The Animals at Lockwood Manor is a gothic historical with a mission, lost family, a new mentor who may or may not be trusted and animal exhibits that may or may not move on their own, well, now we are talking magic on a Night Circus level. This is going to be a fascinating novel.
