This story's premise is a wonderful and intriguing mix of WWII-era historical fiction, women's lit, and natural history. While the first few pages didn't allude to the thrilling elements that are mentioned in the teaser, I'm even more interested in the book because I know it will take a suspenseful turn. The cover, with both its natural and damask/decorative elements, does a good job giving the reader a sense of the book's focus. I'm interested!
