I really want to love this book. I was very meh about The Whisper Man but I absolutely loved The Shadows, so I was very hopeful for this one. It just didn’t work for me.
First of all we’re following so many different perspectives it was hard to keep up or differentiate who’s point of view we were reading from. Second, the time jumping, there were several times where we would jump back in time and with the jumping perspectives it just made it even more confusing. Lastly, the pacing, it was a super slow start until the end where there was one big climax with all the characters and then the story abruptly ends. They could have resolved things a little better. There could of been like 10-20 more pages to wrap it up a little more nicely.
