Alex North knows how to tell a suspenseful story that will keep the reader turning the page late into the night. For some reason I was surprised to discover that Sam and Katie’s love for one another beyond the Prologue. I thought the brutal assault on Katie’s younger brother after she failed to bring him home from school to be alone with Sam would wreck their relationship. I was wrong but the remaining first look makes me wonder if Sam is irresponsible, Katie has to deal with her past and her concerns about her child, and the enigma of Chris. Seems like another exciting read coming our way.
