I've enjoyed this author's previous works and was thrilled to read an excerpt of his newest and to see that it is just as compelling, thought also hard to read. This book started off gruesome and pulled me into the pain of Katie as the book prepares the reader for the criminal they will be facing and waiting to appear. Seeing the plot continue when Katie is an adult with a child of her own, I'm very curious how she will handle the resurgence of memories from childhood and link the the murder that was similar to her brother's experience.
