I have to admit, that when I first read the synopsis of "The Angel Maker" by Alex North, I wasn't sure if this would be the novel for me. The book was described as a "dark, suspenseful thriller". This not the genre that I usually choose to read. However, I decided to give it a try, and I'm certainly glad that I did! The plot begins with seventeen year old Katie Shaw and a decision that she made that has forever changed her life and the life of her younger brother Chris. The novel progresses to Katie as a thirtysomething year old married mother and teacher. She finds herself living the life of an overprotective mother and teacher, due to the incident that happened when she was seventeen. The story also overlaps with the the mysterious character, Michael Hyde. Was he part of the tragedy that took place so many years ago? Can he predict the future? Only time will tell! Mr. North is a talented story teller who has a way of reeling in his readers, and leaving them wanting more!
I'm really looking forward to reading this novel in its entirety!
