What I really wanted was to like this book. The first view that I read left me with high hopes. A former FBI agent now Arabic Book Reviewer cum Stay At Home Mom realizes one of the people at her regular business luncheon isn't what he seems. She starts to investigate. This sounded promising.
The problem, for me, was not with that part of the storyline. The problem was how long it took to get there and the route it took. Susan Isaac's main character,Corrie, is bright, pretty, efficient and a great FBI agent. And yet she constantly obsesses over why her bright, handsome, efficient and fantastic Judge husband wanted to marry her. This goes on for page after page. It just sucked the interest for the book as a whole for me.
By the time the action got started in earnest, I really didn't care. And that is not like me. I'm very patient. But, that said, I realize I'm not everyone's cup of tea either. You may love it. Give it a go. I do plan to try another of Susan Isaac's titles and see where that takes me.
