I wanted so much to like this book. The beginning of this book had intrigued me. Unfortunately, the rest of this book fell flat.

Our main character, Corie, is a former FBI interrogator who has married a rich man and become a work-from-home mom. When a man from her work-from-home lunch group appears odd to her she's convinced there's something to investigate about him. Is he former law enforcement? Is he a criminal? She goes with her gut feeling and decides to start investigating him along with help from her dad, former NYPD.

I didn't really care for Corie. A lot of this book was set in New York, which will be an appeal to some readers but not this one necessarily. There were many unnecessary digressions. The book did become exciting in the last 80 pages or so. By that point it was unfortunately too little too late.
