"Takes One to Know One" features an intriguing premise. Retired FBI agent Corie Geller is bored in her present life in Queens, New York. As she attends weekly meetings for a local freelancers professional group, she becomes suspicious of one of members. Why is the man who claims to be a packaging designer looking at this Jeep all the time? And why does he use a different phone every week? Corie sets out to find out, involving her former colleagues and even her father and best friend. The story can drag at times and it takes about 200 pages for the plot to get going. But Susan Isaacs' humorous writing makes it a fun read. If you’re a fan of Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone books, you will enjoy this novel.
