Who is Pete and why is he so obsessed with keeping an eye on his van at all times? Why does the smart and funny Corie Geller seem to have lost her way after marrying a judge and moving to the suburbs? Why does Josh Geller seem rather removed from the perfect life he created with his first wife and moved Corie into?

All these questions and more will be answered by the time the novel ends. Getting the answers makes for a fun read on a summer day. The story is intriguing and the pacing is quick. It's mysterious, but not a thriller, which I liked, as just reading and watching the news provides more thrills than I'd like right now. The characters are engaging and relatable.

This is my first Susan Isaacs book, but it won't be my last.
