I first have to admit that the last book I finished was FBI Myths and Misconceptions by Jerri Williams. That book focused on things that are commonly portrayed about the FBI but aren't actually true. So while I was reading the narrator's description of keeping her FBI service a secret I thought, "I'm pretty sure there's no reason for that," and my suspicion was confirmed when she said she hadn't been undercover. So we have an author trying to create suspense out of two situations which are nothing on their faces. Corrie is hiding something for no reason, and Pete is probably not hiding anything and she's just being nosy and paranoid. Unfortunately, there was nothing in this First Impression which would make me want to read more.
