The first sentence, evoking the opening line of Rebecca, told me all I needed to know: it was going to be clever; it was going to be suspenseful; and it was going to be witty. As someone who has enjoyed Susan Isaacs ever since I read Compromising Positions when it was first published, I can't wait to enjoy her new book.
