I Didn't Click with the Main Character

One of the first things that I noticed about Takes One To Know One was that I didn't really click with the main character. She talks about her husband who went to Harvard, her stepdaughter, and describes the fancy counters in her bathroom, and it wasn't really relatable. It might for some people though.

The other thing I noticed is that it takes a while before anything really memorable happens. She gets up in the morning, brushes her teeth, and meets up with her entrepreneur group. So far, not much has happened yet, except we're getting to know the main character. It's not really exciting, and since I'm not really clicking with her, it's just not working out for me.

And there's a lot of parentheses. It's kind of distracting for me.

While I'm sure the story will have a lot of excitement and there are readers that will love this story, it wasn't really my thing.
