For myself, having worked with the foster care system this book resonates with me. Lake and Storm are involved in the system and at one point get separated. This book is raw, insightful and takes the reader on a journey inside the lives of two kiddos trying to stay strong and survive the struggles of not having stability, caring parents, or each other. After reading Sync the reader cannot help but find themselves being grateful for everything they have and have been spared. Hopkins digs deep and shows transparency in two deeply personal perspectives of both Lake and Storm. Buckle your seat belt and be prepared to read until you finish Sync, I found myself unable to put it down. Lots of twists and turns as these two navigate a system that has its share of downfalls as well as short term friendships that come and go as easily as their homes do.
