The book structure is interesting. The two points of view, Storm and Lake, are in first person, written in a kind of blank verse format. Lines are enlarged, looking as titles, but are actually the continuation of the account from that person. As we follow each narrative, we learn different pieces of the twins' histories that have brought them to the current moment in the novel. While there is mention of letters between them and, while they sometimes address one another in their monologues, the selections are actually their private reflections.
By the end of the selection, we have a strong beginning of each individual story. There is no indication at this point they will reconnect, but the reader will strongly feel that will happen.
