Oh good! Another Ellen Hopkins book to emotionally destroy me. I've been obsessed with these books since I was in middle school (and probably too young to have been reading them) but I love how real they are.

These books can be intimidating at first glance since they're usually 500+ pages, but the poetry style means they're always quick reads.

For this book, right away your heart is breaking for the separated siblings. In a matter of a few poems you've learned their story and get a picture of where they are now. The writing is descriptive without being tedious. The length of each poem makes it feel like you're reading through the story quickly (which is something I prefer, short chapters). The cover fits with the other books in this author's style, but the colors aren't my favorite.

I will definitely be seeking this book out to see where the story goes (and whatever the heartbreaking ending will be).
