Oh my goodness, my heart is so broken for both Lake and Storm (also how is naming them that somehow the LEAST awful thing their parent(s) has done?!) that they have to go through the foster system, and not only that, but be separated. I think the reason this hits so hard is because you KNOW that it happens to kids all the time, and the author does a great job of making you really feel their pain. Very compelling!
