Ellen Hopkins certainly leaves quite an impact. Her books provide a powerful glimpse into the hardships of teenagers and their struggles no other author can convey the impact. I think most have read her breakout novel Crank about her daughter’s descent into drug addiction. With each book she gets better and better. This one especially packs a punch because it involves a close knit sibling bond broken by separation.
