Switch by A.S. King may have had its fair share of captivating moments and thought-provoking ideas, such as the intricate exploration of time as a mechanism for self-imposed pressure and anxiety was truly captivating. The author skillfully delved into the notion of how we meticulously allocate our precious moments to create meaning, while inadvertently burdening ourselves with unnecessary stress. However this was not enough to make up for a largely lacklustre reading experience. Despite the author's ambition to investigate identity and self-discovery within its pages, I often found myself perplexed rather than enlightened. Moreover, some plot points seemed unnecessary and out of place in the hazy plot line, making an already complex narrative even more muddled. As a result, I was left wanting more clarity and depth amid the vaguely meandering tale.
