I don't really know what to make of this book! It was told in a different style than what I'm used to, and was very ... funky, if nothing else. I think it really just wasn't for me? I couldn't connect to the characters, I didn't really make sense of the plot, I just didn't understand what was going on. I was really frustrated by it at some points, because I didn't understand why no adult stepped in and fixed things. I didn't understand how the clock stopped, and I didn't really understand why either. I wonder if I missed something important, or if I just couldn't connect with the book at all. I was really disappointed with this read, because I really was looking forward to it. The concept was so cool though. I think it just was so abstract? I wonder if it would've worked better for me as an audiobook, but I had a physical copy. I've heard A.S. King's books are just weird but this one was something else.
