This seems like an interesting version of a dystopian tale. There's a set up for a hero and for rebellion against the system. However, it didn't appeal to me. In part, it doesn't seem to reference the pandemic despite suggesting time stops at a specific moment in 2020. That seems odd. Beyond that, I find the slashes in the midst of the prose detract from its power. This might be a good fit for you, but it's not one that I'll pursue further.
