The cover drew me in months ago and I'm glad to have a chance to read an excerpt! The style is very bizarre and I'm not sure what I'm reading, if the world really has been folded into a time fold or if it's just Tru making stuff up to cope with a weird life. It reminds me a bit of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, I think, though I read that book years ago so that might not be quite right. It also brings to mind some of the avant garde stage plays I've read and seen, where people say things abruptly, with no emotion, just flat words. This is an odd feeling but I'm definitely intrigued to see where this is going, if there is a real explanation for the new clock, if the world really has been folded into a bubble.
