SWITCH has a very interesting premise / structure. This book is going to have layers upon layers to sift through, decoding what is metaphor and what is reality. I think King has done a beautiful job of creating this world and situation (which you can't help but compare to spring 2020) in such a way that it feels visceral and otherworldly. Tru is grappling with problems that are huge and abstract with the halting of time, while at the same time dealing with normal teenage issues--sports jealousy, a drifting brother, a missing and somewhat threatening sister, a non-present mother, and a father who seems like he's just trying to do anything he has to to protect his family.
