The writing is great and the concept seems super interesting (and also somewhat familiar in a scary way), but something is stopping me from enjoying it. I think there’s a weirdness or absurdness (for lack of a better word) that makes the story a little too hard to fully immerse myself in. I’ve heard great things about this author but this just isn’t for me.
