A poignant story told from the viewpoint of an adult man, Charlie Lewis, who receives an invite to a reunion for a theater group he performed with as a teenager in the late 90's. The large majority of the book is told from the viewpoint of teenage Charlie as he falls in love with a girl from his Shakespeare group over the course of the summer.
Even though the story takes place in England, I think the flashbacks and reminisces are relatable to anyone who grew up at this time, and the English colloquialisms make the story even more sweet and quaint.
Brilliant storytelling with likeable characters (although there is some unrestrained drinking, sex, and possible drug taking among the teenagers that might turn off some parents) it gives a realistic picture of falling in love for the first time. It will give you all The Feels.
