A Sweet story
The scene is set against the backdrop of adolescence. The promise of freedom and anxiety of it all. Charlie Lewis is navigating the inevitable awkwardness of growing up.
What I already love about him is that he’s clearly the underdog, lone-wolf, practicing his cool before he’s confident enough to show it to the world. The quintessential teenager we can all relate to. He steals his first cigarettes, learning to smoke while reading horror novels - bad boy points: 10/10.
David Nichols is always a treat to read, his characters are delightfully relatable.
I’m excited and weary to fall in love with them, but it’s always worth it in the end.
This promises to be a wonderful story about love, heartache and the retrospective sting of nostalgia.
