Premise drew me in. The writing style is vivid and sophisticated.

I really like the summary/description and it has me very curious to try the whole book in the future. The first 20 pages definitely set a vivid scene with good, literary writing. There is a sort of gloomy atmosphere achieved here with the reminiscent tone of the writing. Not sure yet how that will have me feeling throughout reading this. It's definitely strikes me as being a "you have to be in the right mood" read so far. Really don't care for the cover.
