I loved Nicholls' other novels, so I was ready to use my points to get this one right away. Sadly, the first impression fell flat for me and I am no longer convinced I will love this book. I'm hoping the first pages just don't do the rest of the novel justice, but I found myself skimming and getting a bit bored. The cover is bland as well. I will still give the book a shot, but I'm not as optimistic as I was prior to reading the first impression.
