Like the premise, but didn't get much taste from the first look

I feel like we needed another couple of pages in the first impression. The majority of it was so much set up that it really didn't give me a feel for what the book will be like. I started to feel more engaged right at the end, but it stopped before I could feel fully invested. What I read wasn't enough to make me go buy the book, but it was enough that I would have kept reading if I had the book in front of me.
