That opening line, oh wow! Right from the get go I felt that this book was going to be one that I will be reading in full. The introduction to the characters, including main characters Charlie Lewis, were interesting and somewhat comical - if somewhat heavy on the shock value (however, as a rule most teenage boys are all about shock value!).
The descriptions of the excitement and anxiety of the very last day of school, ever, was palpable and very reminiscent of my own experience upon graduation day. I feel that the writing sets up a good connection with the reader. I cannot wait to read more!
