While wildly well written, CIXIN LIU is tough to review.

From the start, the author weaves a unique, fascinating, and mysterious Doomsday tale.

Characters are memorable though many readers may wish for longer and deeper insights and back histories.

The well-constructed plot moved forward at a strong pace until reaching America.
Then came the endless, lengthy, boring, and tedious introduction of War Games.

Apart from the strange anti-Americanism, this development ruined a truly compelling plot. Yes, the world of the current U.S. presidential beast is beyond horrific, but the overdose of stereotyped flaws cited do not cover the reality of American politics.

I'm happy the story did not devolve into another LORD OF THE FLIES, but wish that
an editor had pointed out a few obvious details, like that the kids would have slowed their alcohol consumption after a few hangover mornings. Many adults have!

Great quote = "This was not humanity's sun!"
