Great world-building, potential to be a solid speculative/sci-fi series

The cover is ok but looks relatively generic, like a pulp sci-fi. The text was amazing. The author was able to incorporate a huge amount of world-building while still moving the plot along. At first, I was worried this would be more of a YA book, but after reading the excerpt I think it’s a solid adult sci-fi.
