That was a longggg excerpt! But it was very gripping from the beginning. I feel like this could be turned into a tv series or movie. And I love that it's a sci-fi fantasy book from a diverse author. I'm not sure how common that is in this genre. Excellent beginning to what i expect is an interesting story.
