This is quite the intriguing premise! A star dying light years away and suddenly everyone over the age of 13 will die...? This makes a lot of questions for me... why would adults die, but not children, being the main one!
But this is fiction so I'll try to wait to reserve judgement. I don't think there's any way a world of only children could survive, even with adults having a year to try and teach things to children.
