I really really really wanted to love this book. Instead I stop, picked it up and read a few more pages, then stop again. I had one of those ‘dragging my feet’ mentality with trying to read this book. David Yoon has such a way to bring me back to my younger years as a teen with his authentic dialogue. The summary sounded way cool and fun. Except halfway reading - I just want to shout ‘tell the truth already!!!’ or shake the MC. The story started getting repetitive and I felt a bit frustrated. There are cool moments with the MC friends and his 2 best friends. But I couldn’t get past the stagnant storyline. Maybe because I was hone in as child and as grown up to just fest up. Instead, this book continue to snowball with the lies and I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to DNF. Which made be very sad cause I’m a fan of David Yoon. This book was just too juvenile for me.
