3 1/2 - 4 ⭐️ ! it was a cute and very amusing book. i laughed out loud basically every other page at Sunny’s insecure and frantic banter as well as Jamal, Milo and Gray’s commentary. absolutely hilarious and major movie potential!!
although i did cringe at some points. for example, where Sunny constantly, only. focused on how “beautiful” and “radiant” Cirrus LOOKED, kinda got to me as a female. how this young man completely changed and altered himself solely for the attention and affection of a female. though, i attribute this cringe factor to my own state of mind. i also understand these characters are still teens and in that frilly frame of mind about love.
it actually took me back to my own elder teen years of attraction and angst; thinking every little thing matters and this one person will forever remember what a dork you were. of course we all still struggle with feeling foolish at times, but this kind of story gives great perspective on things do not last and things do change. something i should really try to remember lol.
i did cringe at times. (!!) but over all (!!) i enjoyed it (!!) and more over laughed at most of it due to it’s relatability and plain silliness!

if i had kids of any age younger than 18, i would not feel comfortable allowing them to read this. it’s not overly inappropriate but does mention pubic hair, erections and describes a brief make-out session between the two underaged teens Sunny & Cirrus. it was a little awkward to read but that’s all! just a heads up for parents!
