Super fake love song is about sunny dae, a boy who loves making cosplay props with his best friends milo and jamal until a new girl comes to down. One small lie turns into sunny and his friends being in a band together. Sunny falls for the new girl but his lie is going to far. Will he lose everything?

I was super excited for this book because I loved David yoons frankly in love. When I read an excerpt of it I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it but when I did It didn’t live up to the hype in my mind. I still really liked It and I’m so glad that I got to read it. The story was a slow grow kind of read so it lagged at times. There were some parts that felt like they were added for no reason. At times I was confused about what was being talked about because there was a lot of talk about “nerdy” things and music and lots of information I didn’t understand so I was pulled out of the story at times. I did love and I mean LOVE the fact that sunny, milo, and Jamal were so open and affectionate with each other. They would hug and say I love you to each other. This doesn’t happen a lot in friendships between boys and I was so happy to see this. Also even though the whole idea of the book was sunny pretending to be in a band to get the girl, the romance didn’t see to be the forefront. I thought it was more about Sunny’s growth. I love a good romance so that was disappointing but a good character arch is also super important.
