This was a light, fun book that made me LOL so many times. I love David’s writing, it’s easy to follow and really makes the characters pop. As Sunny gets himself into more and more trouble I just kept waiting for that moment everything would fall apart! And I loved Cirrus. And that the bully of the story actually turns out to be all right and is also a huge nerd.
What surprised me is that Sunny actually did become a real rockstar through the story, they practice enough to put on a killer song for the talent show - I wish we would have seen that part of it explored more, because he accomplishes this incredible thing but then it doesn’t really go anywhere. But overall I didn’t mind, I had a crush on Gray, and in general really enjoyed the characters. I’ll definitely be keeping up with David Yoon’s future books, I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
