While Super Fake Love Song is obviously (mainly) a YA romance, I really loved the parts of the book that didn't have to do with Sunny and Cirrus' relationship- the friendship between Sunny, Milo, and Jamal; the unexpected story line with Sunny & his bully; and Sunny's relationship with his brother and parents. I felt that Yoon's writing was trying (sometimes too hard) to be the authentic voice of a nerdy teen boy, but sometimes the style was a little overboard. Overall I would recommend to fans of teen love stories where the protagonist realizes their true love will love them without having to put on a front (a la 10 Things I Hate About You). I also liked that this was told from the male's perspective, just like Yoon's first book Frankly in Love, because most YA and romance books I read are from the female's perspective. I would love to see a sequel!
