You know, I really thought Frankly In Love was so amazing, that I think it would be difficult to have a sophomore book be just as good? I think David Yoon can write families really well, with interesting, complex issues, but I'm not sure he can write romance well. In looking back, the strongest part of Frankly In Love was Frank's interactions with his family, and that's true of this as well.

One strength Frank Yoon has is the ability to interject Korean culture without making it feel obvious--because it shouldn't be. Sunny's friends were fantastic, supportive, nerdy, and they felt like real people. They seem like people David Yoon actually knew growing up, and Sunny's issues feel very personal. I also really loved the D&D references and that the bully turned out not to be that way at all. Give us more of this, these non-stereotypical characters.
