This was a quick read, and pretty typical of a YA romance novel, except for one thing...this book is written from the perspective of a teen boy stressing about his lady love instead of the standard reverse.

Sunny Dae is a self proclaimed nerd, who is “encouraged” by his parents to meet Cirrus, a girl recently moved to his home town. When she mistakes his rock star/music lover brother’s room for his, he runs with the misconception in order to impress her, with wearing his brother’s band T-shirts, forming a band of his own, and then performing one of his brother’s unrecorded songs.

His elaborate ruse works for a while, until the plan crumbles. His brother finds out what he’s been doing, a school talent show goes south, and he is found out. Will he ultimately win the girl? Will Cirrus see past the facade and like him back anyway?

This book is cute and quirky, and written for a teen audience in that it’s a clean read. The teen angst is well written, and probably more relatable for the Intended age group than for me, but I find Mr. Yoon an enjoyable author to read.
